Job summary

Lonza Singapore ANT1 Trainee in Development Services - Purification is part of a 15-month CCP training program at the Science Park Facility. The role is fully site-based, enabling in-person collaboration to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards.

The program focuses on downstream purification of biologics, chromatography (AKTA), ultrafiltration, and data generation, while adhering to GMP and regulatory requirements. You will deliver clear reports and coordinate with global Lonza teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant science field and willingness to learn GMP.
• No prior biopharma manufacturing experience required.
• Understanding of mammalian cell culture is desirable.
• Understanding of cGMP regulations.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory work for small-scale downstream purification of biologics (antibodies) following GMP.
• Set up and operate column and membrane chromatography (AKTA) and filtration systems.
• Generate scientific data from experimental work for customer projects.
• Record and review raw data to produce inspectable process knowledge and data sets.

Job description

ANT1 Trainee, Development Services - Purification

The Career Conversion Program (CCP) training period lasts for 15 months. Structured on-the-job training (OJT) will be provided and conducted at the participating companies to facilitate the application of learning and to ensure that individuals acquire necessary competencies to perform at their job.

This is a fully site‑based role at Science Park Facility. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Perform hands‑on laboratory work for small scale downstream purification of biologics (primarily antibodies) following protocols and working to GMP standards.


• Follow work procedures to set up and operate column & membrane chromatography (using AKTA chromatography systems), ultrafiltration and dead‑end filtration systems.


• Contribute to customer projects by generating scientific data from experimental work.


• Record and review raw data to produce good quality process knowledge and data sets suitable for inspection by regulatory agencies.


• Deliver high quality communication (written reports, teleconferences, face‑to‑face meetings) to ensure an outstanding customer (both internal and external) experience.


• Working as part of a site and global project team, co‑ordinate multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of project workstages.


• Facilitate communication between other departments in Singapore and across the global Lonza network.

What we're looking for:

• Degree in a relevant Science field or equivalent


• Individual without prior working experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry may also apply


• Understanding of the application of mammalian cell culture for the production of biopharmaceuticals


• Understanding of cGMP regulations


• Good problem solving and analytical skills


• Good communication and teamwork skills
