is seeking an Assistant Manager, Technical to lead the technical coordination and design management of a tunneling project, coordinating with consultants, LTA, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure designs are coordinated and construction works progress smoothly. You will guide a team, manage submissions, track approvals, and resolve design issues across Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E disciplines, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in tunnel, underground, MRT, LTA or major civil infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore authority requirements and LTA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Design / Coordination Engineers coordinating design drawings and technical requirements with consultants, ensuring compliance with LTA requirements, authority regulations and project specifications.
• Act as a key liaison between LTA, consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities on design and technical matters.
• Guide the team in preparing and coordinating technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and technical proposals.
• Coordinate and track design and technical submissions to relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure timely review and approval.
• Lead the resolution of design, constructability and technical issues encountered during tunnel and underground construction by working closely with Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E teams.

Your Role

• Lead and manage a team of Design / Coordination Engineers in coordinating design drawings and technical requirements with consultants, ensuring compliance with LTA requirements, authority regulations and project specifications.
• Act as a key liaison between LTA, consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities on design and technical matters.
• Guide the team in preparing and coordinating technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and technical proposals.

• Review and respond to technical queries, including raising and tracking Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Approval (RFA) for design clarification and approval.
• Identify design risks and interface issues and work proactively with consultants and project teams to develop practical solutions.
• Initiate and evaluate value engineering proposals to improve cost-effectiveness, safety, constructability, quality and overall project delivery.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure or engineering consultancy.
• Experience in tunnel, underground, MRT, LTA or major civil infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore authority requirements, LTA standards, construction methodologies and technical coordination.
• Strong experience in design coordination, technical submissions and resolving construction-related design issues.
• Independent, analytical and proactive, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Candidates with Design for Safety for Professionals (DfSP) certification will have an added advantage.
