Job summary

Alibaba Cloud Singapore is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead enterprise cloud architecture design and pre-sales efforts. You will craft customer-specific cloud solutions, guide adoption, and collaborate with product and delivery teams to secure revenue growth.

The role requires deep technical hands-on ability, strong business acumen, and experience across AI, big data, containers, and DevOps. English and Mandarin proficiency is essential for team collaboration with China offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Minimally 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture design and strong understanding of customer needs.
• Strong business acumen to explore the value cloud computing brings to customers.
• Good technical hands-on ability to help clients develop AI and cloud migration strategies.
• Proactive optimization mindset to assist clients in cloud deployment optimization and technological transformation.
• Strong sense of ownership with a customer-centric approach; excellent self-learning, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Rich experience in building and optimizing cloud architectures or AI solution development.
• Proficiency in AI, computing, networking, big data, containers, microservices architecture, DevOps, and agile development.
• Experience in one of: FSI, Retail, Media, Public Sector.
• AI-native mindset and proficiency in using AI and agentic tools.
• Able to communicate in English and Mandarin (read/speak) to collaborate with teams in China.

Responsibilities

Solutions Architect (SA) is a key pre-sales technical position in Alibaba Cloud international business division. Our SA’s are experienced cloud architects with comprehensive IT knowledge and industry insight and are, ultimately, the key to success on implementing projects. Solutions Architects are responsible for developing solutions in Alibaba Cloud and helping customers and partners to develop their applications and services on the Alibaba Cloud platform.

• Market Insights & Competitive Analysis
• Output market insight analysis report of segmented fields based on demand information such as market development trend, market space, core scenarios and pain points in the segmented fields.
• Collect competitive information, and give differentiated competitive solutions through the analysis of strategies and scenarios of competing pairs in competitive projects
• Business Opportunity Identification & Pre-sales Guidance
• Responsible for the pre-sales guidance of key decision makers of the customer, use the customer's language to start a dialog, gain trust, explore the real needs of the customer, and form effective business opportunities
• Deeply explore the customer's business technology status and development trend, and establish complete and accurate customer business technology documentation.
• Solution Design & Promotion
• Produce targeted solutions according to customer needs, in the project, develop correct product selection strategy, POC test strike strategy, bidding & bid strategies, product configuration strategy, etc., achieve contract signing, and continuously ensure the increase of Alibaba Cloud's market share in this customer.
• Promote the incubation and replication of public cloud solutions in segmented fields.
• Timely identify and deal with risks of the technology and project during the solution landing process, collaborate with the product team and delivery team for normal fulfillment, and achieve revenue conversion.
• Capability Accumulation & Empowerment
• Accumulate knowledge documentation such as universal cloud architecture templates, best practices, and cases for the segmented fields/scenarios.
• Provide the presentations, evangelism and empowerment training for sales teams and eco-partners.
• Product Requirements & Defect Feedback
• Abstract and summarize product requirements and defects in segmented fields, promote product improvement, new product projects, and major functions launch, enhance product competitiveness.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in any related fields
• Minimally 5 years of experience working and consulting on enterprise architecture design and has a strong understanding of customer needs and requirements.
• Strong business acumen to explore the value cloud computing brings to customers.
• Good technical hands-on ability to help clients develop reasonable AI and agentic solutions, cloud migration strategies, diving deep into technical details.
• Proactive optimization mindset to assist clients in deepening cloud understanding, promoting cloud deployment optimization, cost optimization, and technological transformation.
• Strong sense of ownership with a customer-centric approach; excellent self-learning, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Rich experience in building and optimizing cloud architectures, or AI solution development experience, and good customer service experience.
• Proficiency in one or more technical domains, such as AI, computing, networking, big data, containers, microservices architecture, DevOps, and agile development.
• Have experienced in one of the following industry IT solutions - FSI, Retail, Media, Public Sector
• Possess an AI-native mindset and proficiency in using AI and agentic tools.
• Able to communicate in both English, and Mandarin (Read and Speak) as the role will need to collaborate with the team in China.
