Job summary

WECRUIT PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Import Operations Specialist to manage end-to-end airfreight import processes, from arrival to billing and shipment closure, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will serve as the primary liaison for customers, coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, trucking providers and customs, monitor SLAs and KPIs, and guide junior team members on procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end airfreight import operations, including shipment arrival monitoring, documentation, customs clearance coordination, delivery arrangements, billing, and shipment closure.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers on import shipments, providing timely updates, responding to enquiries, and resolving operational issues.
• Coordinate with airlines, ground handling agents, trucking providers, customs authorities, and internal departments to ensure efficient shipment handling and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and established operational procedures.
• Manage complex or high-value shipments, proactively addressing delays, documentation discrepancies, and customs clearance queries.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, operational reports, and supporting documentation for internal reviews, customer requirements, and regulatory purposes.
• Provide guidance and operational support to junior customer service team members on import procedures, shipment documentation, and established work practices.
• Escalate unresolved customer complaints and operational issues to management, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate resolution.
