Job Description
Our client is one of the largest Japanese contractors. The Accounting Executive is responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, project cost control, billing, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role reports to the Finance Manager.
- Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and track job costs—including labour, materials, and subcontractor expenses—and allocate them to the appropriate projects.
- Prepare progress billings and claims, ensuring timely invoicing to clients.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure all invoices are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Liaise with procurement, internal teams, and vendors to resolve billing or documentation discrepancies.
- Perform month‑end and year‑end account closing activities.
- Support external audit processes and ensure compliance with taxation and GST regulations.
- Review and reconcile petty cash transactions from project site offices.
- Manage vendor payment cycles and assist in preparing cash flow forecasts related to payments.
- Prepare revenue projections and expenditure forecasts to support financial planning.
- Undertake ad‑hoc assignments and projects as directed by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications

Required
- Minimum Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in a medium‑size organisation.
- Fluent in English for effective communication with counterparts.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GST regulations and compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

- Accounts Payable Functions
- Verify non‑trade vendor invoices, staff claims, data entry, etc.
- Accounts Receivable Functions
- Issue trade and non‑trade billing.
- Offset customer payments.

- Develop the annual audit plan and design audit programs.
- Conduct internal audits, including fieldwork, working papers, and reporting.
- Provide recommendations on audit findings and monitor follow‑up actions.
- Lead J‑SOX evaluations (Company‑Level and Process‑Level Controls) for subsidiaries.
- Liaise with external auditors on J‑SOX and related follow‑up activities.

Our client is a listed Japanese Construction Company. The Assistant Manager—Finance and Accounting role is primarily responsible for preparing and reporting consolidated financial statements. You will be reporting to the Finance and Accounting Manager.
- Collect and check financial data from group companies and prepare consolidated trial balance by quarter.
- Prepare consolidation journal entries (e.g. elimination of investment and equity, accounting for equity method, elimination of intercompany transactions, unrealised profit).
- Prepare quarterly consolidated reporting package and its supporting documents (e.g. account details for fixed assets, securities, OCI).
- Respond to queries from head office regarding consolidation package.
- Improve consolidation accounting process.
- Prepare consolidated budgets and regular update of performance forecasts.
