Job summary

NexWave Technologies Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Accountant for a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave in Singapore. You will handle day-to-day accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, including project accounting and audit coordination.

You will review project P&L, monitor budgets against milestones, and assist in tender reviews and annual budgets. Collaboration with department heads and auditors is essential for timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in accounting/finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably project-based in engineering or construction.
• Experience in project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, AR/AP, cash flow and audits.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Accountant to join our team on a 6-month contract basis to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions of the company, including project accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, audit and tax coordination, and providing financial insights to support business operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day finance and accounting functions of the company.
• Prepare and ensure the accurate and timely submission of monthly financial reports and quarterly SGX reporting, together with relevant financial analysis.
• Review and analyse monthly project profit and loss statements with the Operations team, identifying cost overruns, variances and potential financial risks.
• Monitor project budgets, costs and financial performance against key milestones and timelines.
• Assist in reviewing business tenders, proposals and project budgets to assess financial and commercial feasibility.
• Work closely with department heads to prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
• Manage the company's cash flow, including monitoring costs, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Work closely with the Operations team to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
• Review and verify payments, sales invoices, purchase invoices and other accounting transactions.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents and liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate the completion of audit activities.
• Liaise with external tax agents on tax compliance, tax filings and related accounting matters.
• Maintain accurate records of the Company's fixed assets and conduct periodic asset reconciliation where required.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of their responsibilities.
• Provide financial information and analysis to management as required.
• Undertake any other ad hoc finance and accounting projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a project-based environment within the Engineering or Construction industry.
• Experience in project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred.
• Good knowledge of financial reporting, accounts receivable/payable, cash flow management and audit processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Meticulous, organised and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Mature, responsible and able to work effectively with stakeholders across different departments.
• Able to commit to the full 6-month contract period.
• Able to start work immediately/within short notice period.
