Job summary

POH LI HENG BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a capable Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for the company’s construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GST and IRAS.

You will handle AR/AP/GL, bank reconciliations, and year-end closing, support audits and tax submissions, and assist in cash flow forecasting, while maintaining proper records and supporting management with ad-hoc duties.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction/engineering.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Good understanding of Singapore accounting and tax regulations.
• Meticulous, organized, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle full sets of accounts (AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliation).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing reports.
• Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assist in annual audit, tax submissions/GST refunds, and government reporting (GST, IRAS).
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
• Support ad-hoc duties assigned by management or finance department.

Overview

To perform day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for the company’s construction projects. The role supports financial control, project cost monitoring, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• General Accounting
  • Handle full sets of accounts (AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliation).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing reports.
  • Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Prepare customer invoices and follow up on payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and ensure timely collection.
• Banking and Cash Management
  • Perform bank reconciliations and petty cash management.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and fund management.
• Audit, Taxation & Compliance
  • Assist in annual audit, tax submissions/GST refund, and government reporting (GST, IRAS, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company internal controls.
• Administrative Support
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
  • Support ad-hoc duties assigned by management or finance department.
