Job summary

Singapore Baptist Convention's Baptist Theological Seminary is seeking a Library Officer to maintain the library management system Vibrant, manage cataloging and acquisitions, and support both English and Chinese language collections. You will ensure smooth operations and assist faculty and students in finding resources.

Responsibilities include supervising Library Assistants, coordinating student workers, and renewing journals while keeping policies current.

Qualifications

• A Levels or recognised diploma/degree in any discipline.
• At least 2 years in a library or information management role, with some supervisory experience.
• Experience in academic libraries or library management systems is a plus.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (hanzi input method) for bilingual materials.
• Good computing and database search skills; able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the library management system (Vibrant).
• Provide good customer service and assist users with enquiries.
• Acquire English & Chinese Christian literature and manage the library budget.
• Catalogue materials using Library of Congress schemes and AACR guidelines.
• Supervise Library Assistants and schedule student workers.
• Manage journals subscriptions and renewals; recommend titles.
• Lead stocktaking, weeding, and routine policy updates.
• Support Christian functions and events as required.
