Job summary

The Librarian role at Singapore University of Social Sciences supports learning, teaching and research by providing timely access to resources and services. You will source, evaluate, and manage library collections, oversee the institutional repository, and promote discovery through metadata enhancement.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in library science or information management.
• 3-5 years in acquisitions, serials, and electronic resource management in an academic setting.
• Proficient with library management systems (e.g. Alma), finance systems, ERMS, and authentication.
• Familiarity with managing an institutional repository.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• 2-3 years in a supervisory role; able to lead and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and select library resources for purchase/subscription/licensing.
• Cataloguing and physical processing of library resources.
• Manage the institutional repository and enhance metadata for discoverability.
• Promote library resources to increase awareness and usage.
• Collaborate with publishers, vendors and aggregators on access configurations.
• Provide research assistance and support for teaching, learning, and research needs.
• Develop guidelines and training for repository operations and Open Access policies.
• Supervise team members and develop training plans for staff.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to committees.
