Job description

We are looking for someone who believes that great places are created through care, curiosity and hospitality. Someone who enjoys helping people, solving practical challenges and creating environments where others genuinely want to be.

Media Evolution is a community-owned, non-profit platform and place for co-creation, competence development, and futures-thinking.

For more than fifteen years we have brought together people from business, academia, the public sector and civil society to explore change, navigate uncertainty and strengthen our collective capacity to shape resilient and thriving futures.

At the heart of our work is a place in Malmö. A place for work, meetings and collaboration. A place where people come together across differences. A place where relationships are built, ideas take shape and futures are imagined together.

As we expand into a second building, we are looking for a Workplace & Hospitality Lead to join us on a fixed-term contract until September 2027.

This is a role for someone who cares deeply about people, relationships and the experience of being together.

Someone who notices when something is missing, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in creating environments where people feel welcome, supported and connected.

You will lead and coordinate our Workplace & Hospitality function across two buildings and play an important role in shaping the everyday experience of our tenants, visitors and guests.

Through conversations, relationships and presence, you will gain a unique understanding of how the place is used, what people need and how it can continue to develop over time.

The role offers the opportunity to play a key part in Media Evolution’s expansion and contribute to the development of our workplace and hospitality operations, creating the conditions for people and organisations to connect, collaborate, learn and navigate change together.

Some of the things you'll do
  • Lead and coordinate the Workplace & Hospitality team
  • Work from and help run our front desk, building relationships and creating a warm and welcoming experience for tenants, visitors and meeting guests
  • Develop our service, hospitality and workplace operations across two buildings
  • Create and coordinate tenant communication that keeps people informed, connected and engaged with life in the house
  • Meet prospective tenants, host office tours and help people explore whether Media Evolution could be the right place for them
  • Onboard new tenants
  • Capture needs, ideas and opportunities from the place community
  • Contribute insights that help us improve and develop the place
  • Develop routines, standards and ways of working
  • Help ensure that our spaces are welcoming, functional and well cared for
  • Prepare and maintain offices, shared spaces, meeting and event environments, including furnishing, workspace setup, and other practical improvements across the buildings
  • Be a big part of the practical day-to-day operation of the house, including tasks that occasionally require physical work and heavy lifting
We think you are someone who
  • Has a strong service mindset and enjoys working closely with people
  • Has experience from hospitality, coworking, service or a related field
  • Is structured, proactive and pays attention to detail
  • Takes ownership and follows things through
  • Enjoys both practical work and long-term development
  • Builds trust easily and communicates well with different kinds of people
  • Is fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Is comfortable working in English, both spoken and written
It is beneficial if you
  • Have experience from co-working, hospitality, hotels, member-based organisations or similar environments
  • Have worked with community building, placemaking or user experience
  • Have experience coordinating or leading a small team
  • Have experience in communication and/or marketing
  • Are curious about foresight, innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Have a professional network in Malmö
  • Have a driver's license

We believe this role is for someone who wants to contribute to the future of Malmö’s professional life and help shape a place where people and organisations can learn, collaborate and navigate change together. Someone who enjoys combining hospitality, workplace operations, relationship-building and place development in one role.

If this sounds exciting, we'd love to hear from you.
