Job summary

Icomera in Gothenburg, Sweden, is seeking a System Engineer to join our IT Operations team. You will ensure the stability, availability, and continual improvement of our infrastructure, operating across on-prem and cloud platforms with a strong emphasis on automation.

You will collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering, Networking, and Security teams to keep services secure, observable, and scalable, while driving lifecycle management and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux-based environments and production systems.
• Experience with AWS, containers, monitoring, and automation.
• Automation and configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Scripting in Python or Bash.
• Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP) and IT security principles.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or IT operations.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and continuously improve server and infrastructure environments across on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Manage the infrastructure lifecycle including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and support backup, recovery, and security practices.
• Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for troubleshooting and improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks; participate in IT Operations on-call rotation.
