Job summary

SSC Space AB is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead 2-3 engineering teams in developing cutting-edge satellite communication systems. You will mentor engineers, drive improvements in software delivery, and shape the future of space technology.

You will recruit, onboard, and develop talent, coach teams in Agile practices, and review designs to ensure quality and regulatory compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Software Engineering Manager.
• 3+ years’ experience as a Software Developer.
• Proven track record in recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing engineering talent.
• Strong mentoring and team development skills.
• Deep technical expertise in software development.
• Experience coaching Agile teams and refining workflows.
• Understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• European citizenship and willingness to travel.
• Background control and security interview required.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and mentor engineering talent to build high-performing teams.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Support Agile practices and help teams continuously improve workflows.
• Review designs and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Handle escalations and critical incidents, mitigating risks.
• Contribute to strategic planning with insights on tech trends and product innovation.
• Collaborate with other Software Engineering managers, Product Owners, and Architects.
