Qualifications

Your role

We are seeking a Solution Team Lead to drive mission-critical digital solutions that protect people and societies and deliver measurable business value for defence and national security. You will blend business acumen with technical depth, bring senior-level experience from collaborating with executive stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes that enhance operational capability. We embrace Agile ways of working.

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team to shape, deliver, and iterate digital solutions that increase readiness, resilience, and mission effectiveness while generating tangible business value.
• Partner with senior business management, programme teams, and technical leaders to translate mission goals into roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and define clear success metrics and operational KPIs.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and coach the team to continuously improve flow and delivery.
• Provide day-to-day leadership that fosters clarity, communication, and mentorship across the team.
• Ensure solution integrity across discovery, design, delivery, and run - balancing feasibility, scalability, security, and mission impact.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, influence decisions with data and insight, and present with executive-level gravitas.
• Champion high standards for quality, reliability, cyber security, and compliance appropriate for defence and national-security contexts.

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a background in industrial engineering, data science, or software engineering, or equivalent practical experience. You should have at least three years in leadership roles, including project management, with a proven track record of delivering high-performing initiatives. A strong technical background is essential for credible dialogue with engineers and architects. We value an Agile mindset and practices, and you should be comfortable driving incremental value delivery with clear outcomes. Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is confidence in operating with senior leadership. We seek a proactive, business-oriented individual focused on generating business value.

Desirable experience

• Experience in defence, aerospace, regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Exposure to modern data platforms, cloud, integration patterns, and secure-by-design principles.
