Your role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll partner with product teams across Saab to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate innovation. You will build solutions, introduce new technologies and platforms, and help teams successfully adopt modern engineering practices.

Your profile

You combine strong engineering skills with curiosity and a pragmatic mindset. While your background may be in software engineering, systems engineering, data engineering, platform engineering, or a related field, what matters most is your ability to solve complex problems, navigate ambiguity, and help others move forward.

You are comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and balancing hands-on engineering with enabling long-term success for teams and products.

What you'll bring

You likely have:

• Several years of experience working with software or systems engineering in complex product or technology environments
• Experience designing, building, or evolving technical solutions that are used by others
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as cloud technologies, CI/CD, automation, platform engineering, or distributed systems
• An interest in how AI, data, and emerging technologies can create practical value
• The ability to break down complex problems and turn uncertainty into clear direction
• Strong collaboration skills and an eagerness to learn from and share knowledge with others

It's a bonus if you have experience with:

• Cloud-native platforms and infrastructure
• AI/ML applications in real-world products
• Platform engineering and reusable building blocks
• Systems architecture and technical leadership
• Real-time, safety-critical, or highly regulated environments
