Job summary

Cytiva in Uppsala is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to develop new products for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. You will be involved from idea generation to research and development and troubleshoot Cytiva processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab synthesis in resin development for bioseparation, requiring strong chemistry lab skills and cross-functional collaboration across functions.

Qualifications

• BSc./MSc., or equal experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of work experience from a similar R&D role.
• Documented laboratory experience, preferably with an organic or polymer chemistry focus.
• Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform experimental work within surface/polymer/organic/material chemistry.
• Provide technical expertise within chromatography resins and support R&D projects.
• Work in science projects as well as product development.
• Perform primary characterization.
• Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project Manager or Section Manager to reach objectives.
• Document and report results, both orally and written.
