Job summary

Cytiva Sweden AB in Uppsala seeks a Senior Research Engineer to advance downstream process development for viral vectors. You will develop, optimize, and scale purification steps including filtration and chromatography, contributing to both product development and manufacturing support.

The ideal candidate holds a MSc with at least 5 years in biopharma, excels in experimental design, data-driven decision making, and clear documentation, and is fluent in English (Swedish a plus).

Qualifications

• MSc with at least 5 years in biopharmaceutical downstream processing.
• Experience developing and optimizing end-to-end purification, especially viral vectors.
• Strong documentation, data interpretation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and implement filtration and purification for AAV and lentiviral vectors.
• Plan, execute, and analyze experiments with a data-driven approach.
• Maintain process-related infrastructure and update SOPs.
• Propose and adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Present findings at conferences and contribute to scientific dissemination.
