Appgate, Inc. is seeking an Observability Engineer to lead the design and implementation of their observability platform. This senior role requires expertise in distributed tracing systems and OpenTelemetry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for foundational technical decisions, designing high-cardinality pipelines, and ensuring the platform scales to hundreds of millions of events per day.

A strong background in systems programming and networking is essential for this impactful role.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed tracing, telemetry, or large-scale data infrastructure.
• Hands-on pipeline systems ingesting 100M+ events per day.
• Deep understanding of OTLP and telemetry schema.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the observability fabric.
• Make architectural decisions on telemetry schema and transport protocols.
• Drive integration standards with OTLP and Prometheus.
