Job summary

AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Observability Engineer to design and implement a high-performance observability fabric. This role focuses on telemetry SDKs, high-cardinality data pipelines, and distributed tracing systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in observability technologies and a strong systems programming background, with a preference for Go and Rust.

You will collaborate with teams to ensure the observability platform scales to handle hundreds of millions of events per day, making critical decisions that impact national security and business continuity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 4 years in observability or large-scale data infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
• Experience with systems ingesting 100M+ events per day.
• Production experience with Go and/or Rust is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of AppGate observability fabric.
• Drive integration standards for OTLP, Prometheus, and JSON-log compatibility.
• Architect observability platform with focus on scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
