Job summary

Volition is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Telemetry & Observability practice. You will design and implement comprehensive observability solutions for complex distributed systems and help organizations gain deep insights into system behavior for operational excellence.

You will design architectures, instrument with OpenTelemetry, and build pipelines across metrics, logs, traces and events. You will mentor client teams and lead engagements from discovery to handoff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or observability roles.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.
• Strong expertise with observability tools (Splunk, Cribl, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger, New Relic).
• Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar instrumentation frameworks.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Java).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Kubernetes experience and cloud-native patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design observability architectures for large-scale distributed systems.
• Implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation across stacks.
• Build telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, traces & events.
• Create dashboards and alerts for actionable insights.
• Mentor client teams on telemetry best practices.
• Lead client engagements from discovery through implementation and handoff.
