Job summary

Epidemic Sound is expanding its Music data platform. You will own the full data lifecycle, from ingestion to distribution, shaping the catalogue with dbt-driven workflows.

You will drive end-to-end features, ensure data quality, and document data lineage while collaborating with music teams and stakeholders to translate domain needs into scalable platform capabilities. You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and partner with cross-functional teams to move quickly in a high-ownership,

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software engineering and data engineering.
• Experience building data platforms in a cloud environment.
• Leadership experience and ability to influence others.
• Experience with AI agents in development work.
• Comfort communicating across disciplines without translation layers.
• Ability to design clean data lineages and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the full data lifecycle across ingestion, processing, enrichment, and distribution, using dbt models to make our music catalogue accessible and usable across internal and external destinations.
• Own features end-to-end: from technical design through deployment and iteration in production
• Take responsibility for the quality, accessibility, and use of the team's data, keeping what we own trustworthy and well-documented
• Break down complex problems into clean, maintainable components with good instincts for API, event, and database design
• Set technical direction and standards for your area, influencing how others build
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with music teams and other stakeholders to translate domain needs into platform capabilities
