Job summary

Epidemic Sound in Stockholm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Data Platform team to shape our data product strategy and set the technical direction, while keeping hands-on involvement when needed.

You will own team health, growth, and delivery, align the platform roadmap with engineering and data strategy, work with cross-functional leaders, and manage external suppliers.

Qualifications

• A few years of experience as an Engineering Manager, turning ambiguous, high-level plans into tangible work.
• Proven experience building and maintaining data platforms.
• Willingness to work hands-on as an individual contributor when needed.
• Independent mindset with strong communication, bridging technical conversations with engineers and stakeholders.
• Experience with BigQuery, GCS, Airflow (Cloud Composer), Pub/Sub, and Snowplow.

Responsibilities

• Aligning the platform's roadmap with the broader engineering and data strategy.

As Engineering Manager, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our data product strategy, with real freedom to experiment with new tooling and processes in the age of agents. The Data Platform team sets the technical direction for how Epidemic Sound works with data, helping other teams work independently with modern data infrastructure.

We believe the best collaboration happens in the same room. This role is hybrid, based at our Stockholm HQ, with the expectation that you'll spend the majority of your time in the office with the team.

Your key responsibilities include

Requirements

• Proven experience building and maintaining data platforms.

• Willingness to work hands-on as an individual contributor when needed.

• An independent mindset paired with strong communication skills, able to bridge technical conversations with engineers and engage effectively with cross-domain and external stakeholders.

• Experience with BigQuery, GCS, Airflow (Cloud Composer), Pub/Sub, and Snowplow.

It would also be music to our ears if you have

• Experience with data modeling (dbt).
