Job summary

Epidemic Sound in Stockholm HQ is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Financial Systems team to shape the data platform that powers our financial backbone. You will set the technical direction for financial data architecture and lead the integrations across the business.

The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, automating processes, and embedding agentic development and AI tooling to improve accuracy and compliance in sales, settlements, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Experience with databases, advanced query usage and DBT.
• Experience with data processing frameworks and applications.
• Proficiency in Python and Go for building scalable data apps.
• GCP experience, BigQuery and Cloud Composer / Airflow.
• Hands-on with agentic development and AI-generated code quality.
• Interest in financial data within a business environment.

As a Senior Data Engineer in the Financial Systems team, you will play a crucial role in building and scaling the data platform that powers Epidemic Sound's financial backbone. Your role will be to set the technical direction for our financial data architecture, lead the integrations connecting our data platform to the rest of the business, and shape how modern data pipelines and agentic AI tooling transform the way financial data engineering gets done. We work across the whole Epidemic Group, enabling both the core business and new acquisitions to keep accurate and reliable records of sales and consumption data, as well as support varying regulatory reporting requirements. This focus is central to our broader strategy of accelerating the company’s transformation toward smarter, more scalable ways of working by embedding Agentic development and tooling at the core of our technical and financial operations. You'll work at the intersection of Tech and Finance, where the systems and data pipelines you build directly affect how reliably we ingest sales and settlement data, run financial reporting, and scale our data infrastructure as the company grows.

Your key responsibilities include

• Own, maintain, configure, enhance, deploy and document our financial systems infrastructure, particularly our custom code and integrations.

• Explore, discover, analyze, prototype, experiment and measure. Work with stakeholders and management to define systems requirements for new technology implementations, staying abreast of current industry trends.

• Review, retrospect and adapt, (re)learn and (re)iterate based on new knowledge and experience. Contribute to well-functioning collective ownership and decision making. Think and build smart, both for now and with the future in mind.

• Implement automation to make processes repeatable, scalable, and secure.

• Monitor systems and networks for issues and vulnerabilities and investigate security incidents when they occur based on established policies and protocols.

Requirements

• 5 + years of Data Engineering experience

• Experience working with databases, including advanced query usage and DBT

• Experience of data processing frameworks and applications

• Expertise in building scalable data applications and service in modern languages, e.g. Python and Go

• Experience working with GCP, particularly BigQuery and Cloud Composer / Airflow.

• Hands-on experience with agentic development, and ownership of the quality of AI-generated code

• Interest working with financial data in a business environment.
