Job summary

Blykalla in Stockholm, a Swedish deep-tech company, seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the architecture and implementation of the ABB 800xA based control system for a first‑of‑its‑kind reactor.

You will shape the control philosophy, ensure in‑house ownership of IP, and collaborate with ABB and suppliers to deliver safe, secure, and reliable plant automation while joining a highly technical Plant Engineering Team.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
Excellent knowledge of ABB 800xA DCS engineering, configuration, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
Proven ability to design and implement large-scale DCS architectures.
Experience developing control strategies for complex industrial facilities.
Strong understanding of industrial networks and process control.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of Blykalla's plant-wide automation and control system architecture.
Define ABB 800xA system architecture for reactor, balance-of-plant, auxiliary, and test facilities.
Develop internal standards, libraries, templates, and control strategies to retain IP.
Establish governance for control system design, lifecycle management, cybersecurity, and configuration control.
Develop functional specs, control narratives, and automation philosophies.
Design and implement control logic, sequences, interlocks, alarms, and operator interfaces.
Configure ABB 800xA applications, controllers, and HMI systems.
Define communication architectures (OPC UA, IEC 61850, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
Develop and maintain simulation and testing environments for validation.
Support integration of reactor systems and regulatory documentation.
