Job summary

Blykalla is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead specification, integration, and lifecycle management of instrumentation systems for its lead-cooled SMR. You will collaborate with automation, control, electrical, mechanical, process, reactor, and safety engineers to ensure reliable operation and compliance.

The role is based in Stockholm with a chance to influence instrumentation philosophy, standards, and supplier engagements across multi-disciplinary teams in a pioneering nuclear

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, Control or Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• 8-10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within power generation, process industries, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
• Experience specifying and selecting industrial instrumentation.
• Experience producing instrumentation engineering documentation.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience reviewing supplier and contractor engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Instrumentation System Design: develop the instrumentation philosophy for reactor and plant systems.
• Measurement System Engineering: design instrumentation solutions for measurement of key parameters.
• Instrumentation Documentation: maintain instrument data sheets, I/O lists, and installation specs.
• System Integration: define interfaces with plant DCS/PLC and protection systems.
• Vendor & Engineering Partner Management: specify instrumentation packages and review deliverables.
• Testing & Commissioning: perform FAT, SAT, calibration, loop checks and commissioning activities.
