Job summary

Evam is building mission-critical technology for public safety and first responders. We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to shape systems that must work flawlessly when it matters most.

You’ll own backend services using Kotlin, Spring Boot, MongoDB and Kubernetes on Azure AKS, with influence over architecture, data modelling, reliability, observability and production readiness. This hands-on role offers autonomy and technical ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Production experience with MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised services.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing and distributed systems.
• Active use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
• A proactive mindset and a high level of technical ownership.

• Design and build reliable, scalable backend services
• Make key architectural and technical decisions
• Improve performance, resilience, observability and testability
• Review code and collaborate on complex engineering challenges
• Help ensure our systems are safe, stable and ready for production
