Evam builds mission-critical backend systems for public safety. As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll own design and implementation for incident coordination using Kotlin, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Kubernetes.

This role emphasizes reliability, observability, and safe changes, with AI-assisted development as a core daily practice. You’ll help set engineering standards and shape the backend across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering with Kotlin and Spring Boot, with senior-level design ownership.
• Strong experience with MongoDB, including production-ready data models.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience, containerised deployment and scaling (Azure AKS a plus).
• Solid CI/CD practices and testing at unit and integration levels.
• Experience with performance, load, resilience, and observability in distributed systems.
• AI literacy and daily use of AI assistants in design, debugging, and reviews.
• Excellent English communication; able to write proposals and explain risk.
• Proactive ownership mindset and user-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Review code, pair on design problems, and shape service architecture for observability, testability, and safe change.
• Set engineering bar for backend across the team.
• Use AI tools to accelerate design exploration and incident investigation.
• Own technical decisions to ensure reliability and correctness.
