Job summary

Evam is building mission-critical technology for public safety and first responders. We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to shape systems that must work flawlessly when it matters most.

You’ll own backend services using Kotlin, Spring Boot, MongoDB and Kubernetes on Azure AKS, with influence over architecture, data modelling, reliability, observability and production readiness. This hands-on role offers autonomy and technical ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Production experience with MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised services.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing and distributed systems.
• Active use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
• A proactive mindset and a high level of technical ownership.

At Evam, we build mission-critical technology for police, ambulance, fire & rescue, and other public safety organisations. Our software helps first responders manage complex, time-critical incidents every day.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to help build and shape the systems that need to work flawlessly when it matters most.

You’ll work across our backend platform using Kotlin, Spring Boot 4, MongoDB and Kubernetes on Azure AKS. You’ll have real influence over architecture, data modelling, reliability, observability and how we operate services in production.

This is a hands-on senior role with significant autonomy. You won’t just implement tickets — you’ll help set the engineering standard for the team.
