Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Suspension Mechatronics Lead Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The role

As a Suspension Mechatronics Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete ownership of design, development, and delivery of suspension mechatronic components, ensuring performance across cost, quality, and timing targets.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers, leading development activities from concept through industrialization. The role involves technical leadership, coordination, and ensuring successful integration of components into the overall suspension system.

Main responsibilities

• Lead design and development of suspension mechatronic components (e.g., compressor, sensors, ECU, mountings, brackets, fastening)
• Define specifications, verification requirements, and ensure component integration to meet performance and project targets
• Conduct design reviews and define test plans (DV/PV), including analysis and sign-off
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (system architects, software, purchasing, testing, etc.)
• Drive suppliers to meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements within automotive NPD processes
• Coordinate verification and validation activities with CAE and testing teams
• Manage part numbers, BOM, engineering changes, and documentation in PLM systems
• Support prototype, lab, and production activities to resolve quality issues and validate designs
• Ensure delivery of project milestones, documentation, and quality metrics

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or similar
• 8–12 years of experience in suspension mechatronics or automotive electrical/electronic systems
• Strong experience with automotive NPD processes from concept to industrialization
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and EMI/EMC principles
• Experience in documentation and engineering processes (DFMEA, DV/PV plans, design reviews, specifications)
• Project management experience including milestone planning and cost control
• Strong understanding of suspension systems, including sizing, durability, vehicle dynamics, and failure analysis
• Experience with BOM management and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter/KDP)
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Experience with tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Teamcenter, Visview, VIRA
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturing, assembly, and service
