Job summary

WeQuel is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator in Södertälje to design and maintain a GPU-enabled Remote Desktop environment for HPC workloads. You’ll implement automation with Ansible, ensure scalable, secure platforms, and collaborate with HPC and Infra teams.

The role focuses on architecture, automation, and platform engineering, with onsite work in Södertälje and the option for remote work up to 40% while maintaining a 100% onsite cadence when required.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Linux System Administrator, ideally with Rocky Linux or RHEL.

Job description

We at WeQuel are now looking for an experienced Linux System Administrator in Södertälje. You will be a key part of the customer's infrastructure organization, focusing on automation, architecture and platform engineering. You will design, build and maintain a GPU-accelerated Remote Desktop (VDI) environment that supports pre- and post-processing of HPC workloads, including automotive simulations, visualization and rendering. The platform runs on Rocky Linux / RHEL, uses X11 and Xfce4, and uses NICE DCV, EF Portal (EnginFrame) and SLURM to deliver high-performance graphical sessions remotely.

Your responsibilities:

• Designing, deploying and maintaining a Linux-based, GPU-enabled Remote Desktop environment (DCV, EnginFrame, SLURM, X11, Xfce4 on Rocky Linux)

• Developing automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), mainly with Ansible

• Keeping deployments consistent and repeatable

• Securing the platform and keeping it scalable, fast and maintainable over time

• Working closely with the HPC and Infrastructure Engineering teams

• Documenting architecture, configurations, deployment workflows and operating procedures

Requirements:

• Solid experience as a Linux System Administrator, ideally with Rocky Linux or RHEL

• Strong automation and IaC skills, preferably Ansible or similar

• Scripting skills, mainly Bash (Python is a plus)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, GitLab)

• Understanding of X11, desktop environments (Xfce4, GNOME) and remote rendering/display protocols

• Good knowledge of networking, security and monitoring tools, preferably Prometheus-based observability

• Strong architectural mindset, able to design scalable and maintainable systems

• Able to work independently and take ownership of complex environments

• Comfortable working onsite in Södertälje

Nice to have:

• Experience with HPC environments and the SLURM workload manager

• Experience with NICE DCV, EnginFrame (EF Portal), Open OnDemand or similar remote visualization platforms

• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Podman)

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools

• Remote: up to 40% (onsite every Monday, Tuesday and Friday; the assignment may require up to 100% onsite, five days a week)
