Job summary

Green SM, a growing EV and sustainable mobility leader, is hiring an HR Specialist - Payroll to manage end-to-end payroll for Sweden-based employees. You will work with HR, Finance and external providers to ensure accurate payments and compliance with Swedish regulations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years in payroll/HR operations, strong numerical skills, confidentiality, and English fluency; Swedish language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 2–5 years of payroll/HR operations experience, preferably in Sweden.
• Solid knowledge of Swedish payroll, employment tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience with Swedish payroll providers/HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly payroll for Sweden-based employees.
• Collect and verify salary, bonus, allowances, overtime and leave data.
• Coordinate with payroll providers and Finance on processing and payments.
• Ensure compliance with Swedish payroll and employer contributions.
• Administer pension, benefits, vacation and other payroll matters.
• Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations.
• Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain confidential payroll records in GDPR compliance.
• Support payroll audits and statutory reporting.
• Improve payroll processes and controls for accuracy and efficiency.

Position Overview

The HR Specialist - Payroll is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for employees in Sweden, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments and compliance with Swedish employment, tax and payroll regulations.

The role works closely with HR, Finance, employees and external payroll providers to ensure smooth payroll operations and accurate administration of employee compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly payroll for employees in Sweden.
• Collect and verify salary, bonus, allowance, overtime and leave data.
• Coordinate with payroll providers and Finance on payroll processing and payment.
• Ensure compliance with Swedish payroll, tax and employer contribution requirements.

• Handle employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records in compliance with GDPR.
• Support payroll audits, statutory reporting and authority communications.
• Improve payroll processes and controls for accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in payroll and HR operations, preferably within Sweden.
• Solid understanding of Swedish payroll, employment tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience working with Swedish payroll providers and/or HRIS/payroll systems.
• Good understanding of salary, pension, benefits, vacation and absence administration.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential employee information professionally.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Swedish language skills are a strong advantage.
• Experience in an international or fast-growing company is preferred.
