Job summary

H&M Group is hiring a Payroll Manager for Sweden to lead a large payroll operation in Stockholm. You will ensure accurate, compliant, timely payroll across multiple employee groups and collective agreements.

You will set strategic direction, develop the payroll team, and drive system improvements including SAP and HRM-related flows to deliver high-quality service. This permanent role offers growth across a global retail group.

As Payroll Manager for Sweden, you will lead a business-critical payroll function in a large and complex organisation. You will be accountable for the efficient, compliant operations, and operational excellence for Swedish payroll, you will lead and develop the payroll team and ensure a high-quality and future-ready payroll operation that supports both employees and the wider business.

You will:

• Ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery across a complex Swedish environment with multiple employee groups and collective agreements.
• Set the strategic direction for Swedish payroll and translate business needs into clear priorities, governance and long-term development.
• Lead the development of scalable, efficient and digitally enabled payroll processes that strengthen quality, control and business value.
• Use payroll insight, data and reporting to identify opportunities, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement over time.
• Work closely with technology and specialist teams and lead efforts on payroll systems developments, integrations and process improvements, including SAP and HRM-related flows.
• Strengthen Payroll as a specialist and service function that combines operational excellence with a strong employee and stakeholder experience.
• Lead and develop the Swedish Payroll team by setting clear direction, supporting collaboration and enabling experienced specialists to perform and grow.
• Build trusted partnerships with People Services, HR, Finance, IT, Rewards, Global Mobility and external providers.

You will lead the Swedish Payroll team who brings deep payroll expertise and owns end-to-end payroll delivery for Sweden. In this role, you will collaborate closely across functions and play an important part in shaping a strong, modern and business-aligned payroll agenda for H&M Group in Sweden.

We are looking for people with…

• Extensive experience of Swedish end-to-end payroll in a large or complex organisation, including high volumes, multiple employee groups and collective agreements.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, controls, reporting and the full annual payroll cycle.
• Proven senior leadership experience, with the ability to set direction, build commitment and lead experienced specialists through complexity and change.
• Experience of leading payroll transformation, process development, digitalisation or system-related change in a complex organisational setting.
• Confidence working with payroll data, systems, integrations, troubleshooting and external providers.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to connect operational payroll needs with wider business priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
• Payroll-specific certifications (e.g., CIPP, IPP, CPP, or local Swedish payroll certifications) are an advantage.
