Job summary

Basta, part of Urban Italian Group, is seeking a Head Chef to lead a high-volume kitchen with clear standards and a focus on consistent results. You will drive quality, mentorship, and operational discipline across the team to ensure smooth services and strong performance.

You will own menu development in collaboration with the Group Head Chef, manage costs, and uphold safety standards while fostering a world-class kitchen culture and a positive working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a high-volume kitchen with clear standards.
• Proven ability to recruit, train and develop BOH staff.
• Strong focus on cost control and menu costing.
• Maintains food quality, portioning and presentation standards.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee kitchen operations across all services.
• Schedule shifts, recruit and develop BOH team members.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Monitor and control costs, ordering and inventory management.
• Plan menus in collaboration with the Group Head Chef and drive standards.
