Job summary

Saab AB is seeking an experienced IT leader to head Group Function IT, overseeing delivery of group- functions’ IT services and business applications. You will lead a management team, translate business priorities into roadmaps, and drive global solutions with a focus on security, cost efficiency and compliance.

You will partner with senior stakeholders, balance day-to-day reliability with long-term development, and foster high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive IT leadership experience, including leadership of leaders in a complex organisation.
• Proven experience leading business-facing IT service delivery and application management, including coordination across internal delivery teams and external partners.
• Strong understanding of corporate business processes and the IT applications supporting them.
• Experience translating business priorities into service roadmaps, portfolio priorities and delivery plans in partnership with senior business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of service ownership, application lifecycle management and performance improvement.
• Proven experience driving application modernisation, global rollout and organisational change while maintaining reliable service delivery.
• Experience in vendor management and financial management of IT services.
• Broad understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud services, integration, security and compliance, and how shared platforms, AI and automation can improve business services.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage leaders and employees across your unit.
• Take end-to-end accountability for IT service quality, operational stability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Group Function leaders to translate business needs into agreed roadmaps and delivery priorities.
• Drive globally aligned applications and services, enabling rollout and supporting Saab’s international growth.
• Lead application modernisation and lifecycle planning, balancing business needs, technical sustainability and cost efficiency.
• Establish clear service ownership and effective lifecycle management.
• Ensure effective vendor management, architectural alignment and adherence to security and compliance requirements.
• Drive the use of AI and automation to improve services and operational efficiency.
• Follow up service availability, quality, global usage and cost efficiency, and drive improvements based on results.
• Represent Group Function IT in relevant leadership forums and decision-making processes.
