Gears of Leo AB is seeking an experienced Global Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations in Stockholm. The role involves overseeing payroll across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland while developing a global payroll strategy for several countries.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of complex, multi-country payroll functions in a global matrix organization.
• Proven track record of designing global operating models and establishing controls.
• Deep technical expertise in payroll assurance and audit readiness across multiple countries.
• Strong experience managing international payroll vendors and ensuring compliant delivery.
• Ability to build credibility and influence cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
• Advanced capability in managing global payroll data and payroll cost reporting.
• High level of confidentiality and attention to detail, with confidence to challenge vendor outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead timely end-to-end payroll across 12 countries, including Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
• Establish a standardized global operating model with approval workflows.
• Ensure strict compliance with local tax laws and monitor regulatory changes.
• Manage vendor performance and service level agreements effectively.
• Own global reporting on payroll costs and workforce planning for leadership.
• Modernize the global payroll function by driving automation and process harmonization.
