Job summary

ABB Motion High Power (MOHP) Division in Västerås, Sweden, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive sales of large synchronous motors and generators within 2–3 countries, with your own sales budget and a global team.

You will build relationships with customers and end users, develop local sales strategies, and lead offers and contracts—balancing technical insight with commercial responsibility in a dynamic international environment. The role is based in Västerås, Sweden.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical B2B sales, technical project management, or technical sales support.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to build relationships across teams and cultures.
• Structured, proactive, and flexible approach with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Customer-focused attitude and willingness to travel as part of a global role.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales of large synchronous motors and generators in assigned areas with full sales budget responsibility.
• Build strong relationships with customers and end users to secure orders and increase sales volume.
• Drive local sales team performance and conduct market analysis; actively shape how we manage and develop customer leads.
• Prepare and negotiate technical and commercial offers, contracts, and agreements.
• Develop sales strategies and marketing initiatives for customers in assigned areas.
