Job summary

Tobii Dynavox invites a highly skilled Linguistic and Childhood Language Development specialist to support the development and review of AAC content for French. This remote, independent contractor role starts immediately and requires up to 200 hours over about 9 months, with flexible scheduling aligned to Stockholm time.

You will collaborate with developers and AAC content experts to define language-specific features and ensure the target language's vocabulary, grammar, and syntax support

Qualifications

• Native speaker of the target language with fluency in English.
• Background in linguistics and childhood language development.
• Strong understanding of grammar and morphology; able to discuss complex linguistic concepts with developers.
• Knowledge of AAC principles and how vocabulary/grammar are represented in AAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute knowledge to childhood language development in the target language.
• Help develop a lexical database that organizes words by part of speech and morphological form.
• Support evaluation and selection of existing lexical data sources.
• Review lexical data for errors and make corrections as needed.
• Collaborate with software developers and AAC content experts to define language-specific features and expected behaviors.
• Review the software product and AAC implementations to ensure vocabulary, grammar, and syntax in the target language are well supported for children’s communication needs.
