Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an Operations and Facilities Technician in Västerås to ensure reliable operation of our offices, laboratories and production areas.

You will monitor building operations, manage energy use, and participate in strategic planning with the facility department. The role requires a background in facilities management or related fields, experience with building systems, and fluency in Swedish and English.

Qualifications

• Education in facilities management, building service engineering, operations technology or related field.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of commercial properties.
• Experience with ventilation, heating, cooling and building automation/control systems.
• Troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Good computer skills and experience with property management systems.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work independently.
• Strong service mindset and professional approach.
• Good knowledge of energy optimization.
• Fluency in Swedish and English (written and spoken).
• Valid Category B driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and follow up on building operations.
• Manage and track energy consumption.
• Support strategic planning with the facility department manager.
• Coordinate and monitor KPIs established by management.
• Participate in regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Work on energy optimization and operational improvements.
• Communicate with tenants regarding technical matters.
