St1 Oy seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI & Software) to bridge business needs and technology, turning real-world problems into deployable AI and software solutions. You’ll work alongside engineers, architects and platform teams, delivering pilots quickly while maintaining quality and governance.

This mid-level role emphasizes fast learning, hands-on delivery, and collaboration with the Nordics’ operations and sites, with occasional travel to St1 locations across the region.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering foundation with a few years of shipping software or AI solutions.
• Hands-on depth in at least one area: applied AI, cloud platforms, data engineering, or ML.
• Strong delivery instinct: prototype quickly with non-technical users and iterate.
• Fluent English is mandatory; Nordic languages are a plus and willingness to travel to Nordics sites.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business units to scope, prototype, and ship AI/software solutions for prioritized use cases.
• Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept, validate against success criteria with stakeholders.
• Drive technical delivery for use cases day-to-day, with guidance from senior engineers and architects.
• Ensure AI governance, data, security, and compliance requirements are met, with appropriate oversight.
