Job summary

atNorth is seeking a Design Manager to lead the technical and commercial delivery of design and build-out projects for our Nordic data centers. You will ensure standardization, quality, and sustainability throughout the development process, collaborating with Procurement and Operations teams.

In this role, you will influence performance, reliability, and environmental impact across sites, travel across the Nordics, and drive continuous design improvements with a proactive, self-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in civil/structural/architectural (CSA) or MEP engineering fields.
• Experience in infrastructure or construction projects, preferably data centers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant engineering disciplines (CSA or MEP).
• Understanding of data center equipment and critical infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of building management systems and CSA/MEP engineering.
• Familiar with project and design management processes across multiple stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.
• Proactive, self-driven, adaptable mindset.
• Willingness to travel across the Nordics, including outside regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement atNorth’s standard design and infrastructure solutions across Nordic sites.
• Act as the technical and commercial expert throughout project lifecycles.
• Oversee and manage all design phases and support construction, ensuring alignment with gating, cost, sustainability, and HSE processes.
• Coordinate external A&E consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver cost-optimized solutions.
• Assist site selection by evaluating brownfield/greenfield opportunities and master planning.
• Review Capex budgets and assess technical risk in expansion, retrofits, or new builds.
• Support technical incident investigations and drive continuous design improvements.
• Ensure sustainability opportunities are prioritized and environmental impact is minimized.
