Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a Data Center Shift Technician to resolve day-to-day work orders and ensure timely completion in a 24/7/365 environment. You will work within the Critical and Technical Services function, maintaining safety, accuracy, and effective client communication.

Responsibilities include logging work, coordinating with contractors, and supporting management processes. The role requires rotating day/night shifts and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade diploma with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs and climbing stairs/ladders.
• Ability to work a rotating day/night shift including unsociable hours.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Data Center Shift Technician, you will resolve and complete day-to-day work orders to meet client satisfaction targets and ensure completion in the time frame required in 24/7/365 operations.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain an up-to-date log of work completed and outstanding items through the in-house system.
• Ensure that all contractors and staff comply with all company, client safety, and security requirements.
• Participate in the critical services training program.
• Ensure effective communication with the client and management team is maintained.
• Operate as a team with other technicians by sharing expertise and experience to help resolve operational problems.
• Provide holiday, training & sickness cover for other members of the shift team.
• Track and complete Critical Services Planned Preventative Maintenance and provide condition assessments of plant and equipment.
• Log and action all out-of-line situations with incident reports.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
• Support Service Management and related processes (e.g., Service Request, Incident, Change) by creating, updating, approving, and closing associated assigned tickets.
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks ensuring safe work practices.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in application of work.
• Learn new technologies and expand and share this knowledge.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to work in a rotational shift pattern consisting of day and night shifts which include unsociable working hours.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
