Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Västerås, Sweden invites a Control Systems Engineer to lead the design of control systems. The role reports to the Director Adv.

Operations and Controls Engineering and operates in a hybrid work setup. You will develop and upgrade control equipment, analyze existing systems, and participate in all project phases from feasibility to testing and commissioning, with emphasis on reliable, safe industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Higher technical education with a relevant specialization in electrical/automation.
• Experience in projects in industrial automation, process industry.
• 3+ years with industrial control systems (ABB AC160, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS 7, ABB AC400/AMPL).
• Education in control engineering or proven work with control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and upgrade control equipment in existing systems.
• Analyze existing control systems and adapt technical solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design, document, test, commission, troubleshoot, and train.
• Work in project format, involving all project phases from feasibility to testing and training.

About The Role

As a Control Systems Engineer your main responsibility is the design of control systems.

You will report to the Director Adv. Operations and Controls Engineering and be located in Västerås, Sweden.

Model of work: hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and upgrade control equipment in existing control systems.
• Analyze existing control systems and adapt technical solutions.
• Conceptual solutions, requirements development and investigations.
• The work often takes place in project form. In this format, you involve yourself in all phases of the projects, from conducting feasibility studies to constructing, analyzing risks, documenting, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training.

Qualifications

• Higher technical education with a relevant specialization, such as electrical engineering, engineering physics, computer, or energy engineering.
• Work experience from working in projects in industrial automation, especially in the process industry.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial control systems such as ABB AC160, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS 7 and ABB AC400 series (AMPL).
• Education in control engineering or has worked with control systems.
