Job summary

W Electric Sweden AB in Västerås, Sweden, is seeking a Mechanical Designer to help design and develop equipment servicing Westinghouse nuclear fuel and reactors. On-site role with potential remote work depending on tasks, reporting to the Manager of Tooling and Technology.

The position requires 5+ years of mechanical design experience, strong tolerancing for manufacturability, and proficiency with Creo and Windchill.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical designer.
• Good at setting tolerances while designing for manufacturability.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill PDM systems.
• Experience handling requirements against design (customer requirements, CE marking).
• Very good Swedish and English skills (speaking and writing).

About The Role

As a Mechanical Designer you will help design and develop equipment to service Westinghouse's nuclear fuel and reactors. Your main responsibilities are to efficiently deliver everything from small assignments to large projects together with our technical experts and other management. You will report to the Manager of Tooling and Technology. The position is based at the Fuel Factory in Västerås, Sweden – the model of work is on-site with opportunities to work remotely based on what your tasks allow.

Key Responsibilities

• Feasibility studies/investigations regarding technical solutions
• Prepare detailed design documentation for manufacturing
• Test new developed equipment
• CE-marked developed equipment (work with requirements management, risk assessment and documentation)

In addition to the daily work, we ask you to contribute to the exchange of experience and improvement and work together with the other 12 designers in the group.

Qualifications

• Technical education or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical designer
• Good at setting tolerances while designing for manufacturability
• Design experience in any 3D tool and experience with PDM systems (we use Creo and Windchill)
• Experience handling requirements against design (customer requirements, CE marking)
• Very good Swedish and English skills (both in speaking and writing)
