Your role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing software for a variety of platforms and architectures, with a strong focus on safety‑critical systems. You will be responsible for writing clean, efficient, and well‑documented code that adheres to DO‑178 standards, ensuring the highest levels of quality and compliance. The role offers room for adaptation, allowing you to focus on areas that match your previous experience and what you truly enjoy working with.

Examples of what your work may include:

  • Close collaboration with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
  • Participate in requirement analysis and traceability to guarantee compliance with rigorous safety and security standards.
  • Perform software testing, debugging, and validation to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of requirement‑based development processes.

You’ll be part of an agile team, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives, where collaboration and innovation go hand in hand. Staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in embedded software development for safety‑critical systems will be a natural part of your role, helping us stay at the forefront of the industry.

Your qualifications

We are looking for an experienced embedded software developer with excellent problem‑solving skills and keen attention to detail. You have strong communication abilities and a collaborative mindset that make you an effective team player.

To thrive in this role, you must have experience with DO‑178, good programming skills in C and Python, and hands‑on experience in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real‑time operating systems. You are familiar with requirement‑based development processes and have worked with version control systems to ensure efficient and structured development.

We expect you to have a solid understanding of modern software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, and hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred experience

We consider it a plus if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Safety‑critical software development for aerospace, Med‑tech or defence applications.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and best practices for safety‑critical systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDL), such as VHDL or Verilog.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or other embedded operating systems.
  • Knowledge of model‑based development tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
