Embedded Software Developer

Contract Type: Permanent

EmbeddedSoftwareDeveloper –Aviation industry

Who are we:

At ADB SAFEGATE, we are a global company spanning over 48 offices and 1400 employees at the forefront of revolutionizing aviation technology. We are developing innovative solutions that enhance airport performance across the globe. Our cutting-edge products and services ensure that airport operations are safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable. Partnering with over 2,500 airports across the globe, including 47 out of the top 50 busiest airports, we are committed to creating seamless travel experiences and shaping the future of aviation.

The Opportunity:

Air traffic is doubling every 15 years growing at a rate of 4.4% annually. There is a 50% capacity shortage expected by 2035 in half of the world’s airports if nothing changes, ultimately meaning that 237m passengers will not be able to fly in 2035.

You will be an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing pioneering software that powers the aviation industry’s most critical operations. Your expertise will drive advancements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability, transforming the way airports function worldwide.

We want to see our people grow, that is why we believe in accountability and trust. We are a company where you have a voice to shape the future of our products and roadmaps to directly impact the global aviation industry.

The Team:

We are a team of highly skilled and social people sitting together in our Malmö office, but also collaborating with other offices in Europe. We primarily work on the SafedockAVDGS system and our Intelligent AiPRON suite of products.

We are now looking to add like‑minded, driven individuals with diverse software development experience to our team to help us take the next steps in our Airside 4.0 strategy.

The role

As an Embedded Software Developer in our R&D Device Team, you will play a key role in hands‑on development—implementing new features, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with talented colleagues to deliver world‑class software for airports worldwide.

We don’t expect you to match everything. If you recognize yourself in parts of the profile, we still encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain embedded/software platform components primarily in C++
  • Implement new features and take ownership from design to delivery
  • Perform deep debugging and troubleshooting across application code, Embedded Linux, and hardware.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of build, test, and release flows (CI/CD, Azure DevOps pipelines)
  • Apply secure engineering practices (secure coding, robustness)
Required qualifications
  • Strong professional experience with C++ in embedded/system-level development
  • Solid experience with Embedded Linux, including systems programming, networking, and debugging
  • A strong engineering mindset around testing and maintainability
  • Working knowledge of collaboration and development tools such as Git (and preferably Azure DevOps)
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment
Nice to have
  • Security background (e.g., secure boot/update concepts, threat modeling, vulnerability‑aware development)
  • RTOS experience
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI/CD ways of working
  • Hands‑on experience with Yocto
  • Experience with radar and/or LiDAR technologies/products
  • Experience with troubleshooting on hardware level
  • C#, Java and Python experience.

We value you and your contribution in the business. Recognizing and rewarding the impact you make is important to us.

In return, we offer a truly global environment with competitive salaries and benefits.

The opportunity to develop your career. We love to upskill and promote our staff; there’s nothing better than to see someone gain a strong sense of pride and accomplishment.

A great flexible working culture with company values and behaviours that help shape your development and lead to success for you and the Company.
