Job summary

RDT is looking for an Automation Engineer – Motion Safety to support a major technology and research project in Lund, Sweden.

This hands-on assignment focuses on the functional safety of moving machinery, motion control and industrial automation. You will collaborate with a Motion Control & Automation team to implement safety solutions and integrate them into motion control PLC systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing, integrating and commissioning industrial automation systems.
• Experience with verification and validation of industrial automation systems.
• Experience documenting industrial automation and safety systems.
• Knowledge of functional safety principles for machinery.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience using SISTEMA for safety design verification calculations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate motion-related hazards and define motion safety requirements according to EN ISO 12100 and EN ISO 13849.
• Design and implement functional safety systems.
