Job description

Industrial Automation Engineer

Location: Malmö, Sweden.

Your Future Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize advanced high‑automation production systems. You will drive PLC/HMI development and oversee the development, optimization, and implementation of our highly automated production lines.

You will act as the requirements owner for systems and automation solutions, collaborate on development, installation, commissioning, and upgrade of equipment, troubleshoot and perform system upgrades, feasibility studies, pre‑engineering, and contribute to automation strategy, simulations, and system visualization. Additionally, you will ensure technical documentation compliance and support new equipment design and supplier integration.

Who We Are Looking For

Required:

• Experience with PLC/HMI programming, primarily Siemens S7
• Knowledge of electrical design, control engineering, instrumentation, and electrical components
• Experience with engineering, programming, and commissioning projects through to a fully operational plant
• Experience with ABB OmniCore or similar systems and background in automotive or medtech manufacturing is advantageous

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of PLC programming experience within industry
• Knowledge of machine safety and Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC)
• Technical education – Bachelor’s/Master’s in engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in Swedish and English

Preferred Skills

• Node‑RED (flow‑based programming tool)
