Job summary

Matritel Kft is seeking an Automation Engineer – Motion Safety in Lund, Sweden. You will contribute to safety solutions for motion control and support PLC-based automation projects in an industrial setting.

The role requires a degree in engineering and at least 3 years of experience in automation, with strong English communication and documentation skills. This is a full-time, 12-month contract with potential extension in a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in developing, integrating, and commissioning industrial automation systems.
• Experience with verification and validation of automation systems.
• Experience producing technical documentation for automation projects.
• Familiarity with machinery risk assessments and functional safety processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Assess motion hazards and establish safety requirements per EN ISO 12100/13849.
• Develop and implement functional safety solutions for motion control.
• Support integration of safety systems into PLC-controlled environments.
• Participate in verification and validation of safety functions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for safety systems and automation processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliant safety implementations.

Contract Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of a 12-month extension

Are you passionate about industrial automation, motion control, and functional safety?

We are looking for an Automation Engineer – Motion Safety to join an exciting engineering project in Lund, Sweden.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of functional safety solutions for moving machinery used in advanced neutron instrumentation. You will also support the integration of these safety functions into PLC-based motion control systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Assess machinery-related motion hazards and establish safety requirements in line with EN ISO 12100 and EN ISO 13849.
• Develop and implement functional safety solutions for motion control applications.
• Support the integration of safety systems into PLC-controlled automation environments.
• Participate in the verification and validation of machinery safety functions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to safety systems and automation processes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure effective and compliant safety implementations.

Requirements

• A degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in developing, integrating, and commissioning industrial automation systems.
• Practical knowledge of industrial automation verification and validation.
• Experience producing technical documentation for automation systems.
• Familiarity with machinery risk assessments and functional safety engineering processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory).

Additional Skills That Would Be an Advantage:

• Experience with SISTEMA for functional safety calculations and design verification.
• Familiarity with PILZ safety solutions.
• Hands-on experience programming and commissioning TwinCAT 3 systems.
