Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an L3 Windows Server Administrator to support Windows Server platforms in a Saudi client environment. This role requires hands-on problem ownership, leading complex troubleshooting, major incidents, upgrades, and patching strategy.

Key duties include patching governance using ManageEngine, coordinating with Exchange teams, and mentoring L2 engineers to uphold strict SLAs in production settings.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on Windows Server administration with current versions and patches.
  • Experience leading incident resolution in production environments.
  • Familiarity with patching lifecycle and server maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as escalation point for complex Windows Server issues.
  • Lead deep-dive troubleshooting for OS, performance, and stability.
  • Own and execute server upgrades, patching strategy, and remediation plans.
  • Design, plan, and govern server patching using ManageEngine with compliance reporting.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for file servers, shares, and permissions.
  • Coordinate Exchange Server troubleshooting with messaging teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues.
  • Support major incidents and high-severity production problems.
  • Maintain and govern server inventory and technical documentation.
  • Review and approve operational changes related to Windows infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide L2 engineers on troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Engage with onsite Saudi Arabia client environments and stakeholders.
  • Deliver outcomes under tight timelines and high pressure.

Job description

The L3 Windows Server Administrator acts as the technical SME for Windows Server platforms, leading complex troubleshooting, major incidents, upgrades, and patching strategy. The role requires deep hands-on expertise, problem ownership, and technical decision-making capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as escalation point for complex Windows Server issues.
  • Lead deep-dive troubleshooting for OS, performance, stability, and service-level issues.
  • Own and execute server upgrades, patching strategy, and remediation plans.
  • Design, plan, and govern server patching using ManageEngine, including compliance reporting.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for file servers, shared folders, access control, and data availability issues.
  • Handle Exchange Server troubleshooting and coordinate with messaging teams when required.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues.
  • Support major incidents, outages, and high-severity production problems.
  • Maintain and govern server inventory, baseline configurations, and technical documentation.
  • Review and approve operational changes related to Windows infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide L2 engineers on troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Engage directly with customers and stakeholders in onsite Saudi Arabia client environment.
  • Deliver outcomes under tight timelines and high operational pressure.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server 2016, 2019, and above.
  • Expert-level Windows OS troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Strong experience in server patching automation and management using ManageEngine.
  • Deep understanding of server maintenance, lifecycle management, and upgrades.
  • Advanced knowledge of file servers, shared folders, and permissions architecture.
  • Good technical understanding of Exchange Server architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience in production environments with strict SLA requirements.
  • Ability to lead and resolve high-impact technical issues.
