Job summary

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare seeks a Thoracic Surgeon to provide attending and consulting surgical services for ambulatory and hospitalized patients. The role includes daily rounds, collaboration with Anesthesiology, and participation in hospital committees to maintain high standards.

The candidate should have board-certified thoracic surgery or eligible status, completion of a full residency in surgery, and experience in trauma and general surgery.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized medical school followed by internship.
• Saudi or Western Board sub-specialty or eligibility; or equivalent certification.
• Full residency program in surgery and/or board certification in surgery.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional duties of a Thoracic Surgeon sub-specialist for ambulatory and hospitalized patients.
• Makes daily rounds and conducts examinations in surgical sub-specialties.
• Serves as consultant to other medical services and to the intensive care unit.
• Assumes after-hours responsibility for care of surgical cases and daily rounds for hospitalized patients.
• Adheres to bylaws and standards of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and hospital policies.
• Participates in teaching, quality improvement, and keeps current on techniques and drugs.
• Supervises staff physicians and interns and provides evaluation to the Chief of the services.
• Consults with Anesthesiology regarding anesthesia techniques.
• Participates in hospital committee functions as assigned.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and does not release information without authorization.
