Job summary

Alfanar Engineering Services in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our HV/EHV substation team. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience and a B.E./B.Tech.

in Electrical Engineering. You will conduct testing and commissioning for 13.8kV to 380kV substations, transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, protection and SCADA systems, and produce detailed reports while collaborating with clients and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech.).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning of HV/EHV substations.
• Strong knowledge of protection relays, control systems, SCADA, and communication networks.
• Hands-on experience with GIS/AIS substations and transformer testing.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and protection logic diagrams.
• Willingness to work across project locations within Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of HV/EHV substations ranging from 13.8kV to 380kV.
• Execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for: Power Transformers, GIS/AIS Switchgear, Disconnectors & Earthing Switches, CTs, VTs/CVTs, Protection & Control Panels, SCADA & Communication Systems.
• Carry out protection relay testing, configuration, and validation.
• Perform primary and secondary injection testing.
• Conduct transformer testing (Winding Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Functional Tests).
• Verify control logic, protection schemes, and interlocks.
• Support energization and synchronization activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues during commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning procedures, test reports, and punch lists.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and final commissioning reports.
